Stereotypes: Men and women DO communicate differently

While much has been said about women and men being from different planets and having their own cultures, the reality is that we have all grown up on the same planet, and interact with each other in different ways on a daily basis.

The more politically correct individuals will cry foul at any mention of double standards or reinforced stereotypes in the division between men and women. The realists out there will simply nod, and even laugh where appropriate, since it’s just plain truth in most cases that certain significant differences to exist between the sexes.

The fact that men and women are on different wavelengths when it comes to communicating is probably not news to you. Watch this really funny video and LOL

Of course we are referring to stereotypes and making generalisations! Here are some expressions to use when you are talking in general:

Generally speaking, men are more selfish than women.

As a rule, nobody enjoys doing housework.

Broadly speaking women like shopping.

In the main, men like sport.

The average man can’t iron well.

By and large, women find it easier to unload their worries on to other people.

Here is an amusing article from the BBC News website which talks about the 78 differences between men and women. Which one(s) do you agree with?
